Parallelism, Interconnection, and Complementary Distribution: Papers in Honor of Miriam Butt and Tracy Holloway King

For more than three decades, Miriam Butt and Tracy Holloway King have been among the most influential voices in Lexical Functional Grammar and the Parallel Grammar project. Their friendship and intellectual partnership began when they were graduate students at Stanford and continues to this day. Throughout their careers, Butt and King have pursued an approach to linguistic grounded in rigorous empirical research, formal precision, and computational implementation. Their work has shown how theoretical insights and computational modelling can inform and strengthen one another, advancing both linguistic theory and practical applications, and inspiring linguistics around the world.
